The Golden Rules

Brush daily
Section by section, ends to root, with a loop or extension brush.
Wash mindfully
Lukewarm water, sulfate-free products, downward motion only.
Sleep protected
Dry hair, loose braid, silk or satin pillowcase.
Keep maintenance
Never skip your 6–8 week appointment — it protects the hair.
Maintenance every 6–8 weeks
Weft / Sew-in
Do
- ·Brush from the ends up, holding the weft base to avoid tension
- ·Wash in the shower, not the bath — keep water running down the hair
- ·Sleep on a silk or satin pillow, hair in a loose low braid
- ·Use sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner
Avoid
- ×No oils or heavy creams on the bead/anchor row
- ×Never sleep with wet extensions
- ×No vigorous towel-rubbing — blot and squeeze
Maintenance every 6–8 weeks
Nano & 6D
Do
- ·Separate the bonds daily with your fingers to prevent matting at the root
- ·Condition from the mid-shaft down — keep product off the bonds
- ·Brush with a loop brush, section by section
- ·Style on low-to-medium heat; always use a heat protectant
Avoid
- ×No oil-based products near the bonds — they slip the bond
- ×No chlorine or salt water without a protective style
- ×Never pull or tug a loosened bond — pin it and text us
Event wear only — same-day or short-term removal
Tape-in & Glue-in (Ceremonial)
Do
- ·Keep the hair dry and sweat-free for the duration of the event
- ·Brush gently around the bond line
- ·Schedule your removal within the wear window we give you
Avoid
- ×No oils, solvents, or heavy products near the bonds
- ×Do not attempt removal at home — come to the Room for a clean take-down
- ×No prolonged heat or steam near the bond
Re-tighten every 6 weeks; replace per your cycle
Medical Integration & Prosthetic
Do
- ·Follow the wear schedule we set for your system
- ·Clean the integration panel with the products we provide only
- ·Sleep with the system protected per your custom care plan
- ·Keep your 6-week maintenance appointment — it protects the scalp
Avoid
- ×No at-home adjustments or tightening
- ×No scratching or pulling at the integration edge — call us
- ×Avoid products not cleared by your specialist
Longevity
How long it lasts
A cosmetic install lasts 6–8 weeks before it needs maintenance, and the Barbelo hair itself lasts many months with proper care. Medical systems follow a custom wear and replacement cycle set by your specialist. The single biggest factor in longevity is the maintenance appointment — book it before you leave the Room.
